Jonathan Maina

Programme Director

Jonathan Maina is the Programme Director at AJW Africa and has a decade of experience in governance and development. His expertise spans across the development, policy, and political dimensions. He has been involved in organizational design and restructuring, proposal grant writing, strategy formulation in both corporate and political contexts, and program design and implementation. Jonathan has served as a Legal and Policy Advisor to the Minister for Devolution and Planning, within the Office of the President, (2014-2015) and worked as an international consultant for clients (including inter alia: Tullow Oil BV, JP Morgan, Equity Group Holdings, DANIDA and IGAD) conducting political economy assignments, Program Design, Programme Evaluations, Policy and Security Research and Analysis. At AJW Africa, Jonathan plays the role of team aggregator, coordinating the delivery of all assignments across the different work-streams and managing client relationships. Jonathan undertook an MSc. in Public Management and Governance at the London School of Economics and Political Science (2012-2013), where he studied under the tutorship of some of the world’s most renown Professors and Government Administrators, such as Sir Michael Barber, the founder of former PM, Tony Blair’s Delivery Unit. Jonathan is also a Lawyer by training, having obtained an LL.B, from the same institution.
