Dr. David Mwaniki

Dr David Mwaniki is a member of the AJW Africa Advisory Council. He brings in over three decades of management of research and development, multi-sectoral programming and manufacturing experience.   He served as Chief Research Officer and Director of the Centre for Public Health Research in the Kenya Medical Research Institute and Chief of Party in the Family Health International (FHI360) for USAID flagship programs in human health, nutrition and agriculture in Kenya. 

He also held post graduate training positions in the University of Nairobi and the Institute of Tropical Medicine and Diseases.  His expertise in translation research and implementation science will spur innovations that are critical in creation of jobs across Africa, generation of knowledge, policy advisories and service delivery programming. He holds a Master of Business Development (MBA) in International Business Development and Leadership as well as graduate and postgraduate qualifications in human health and engineering disciplines.
